Actor Edward Akrout founded art Shield under the umbrella of Creative Visions, a nonprofit organization founded by Kathy Eldon.
Edward Akrout first came to Ukraine in 2013 to shoot Bitter Harvest, a movie about the Holodomor. During the filming, the country was engulfed by Revolution of Dignity, which was shortly followed by the war. Highly affected by that experience, Edward decided to return to Ukraine in 2022 to initiate Art Shield.
