A LITTLE CRACKED Film

In 2020, I got to have a lifechanigng experience. I made a short film named Touched. It was inspired by true stories of healing from sexual assault, including mine. The most common response is to never tell anyone, even while PTSD rages and we push away those we love. In the media, there have been stories about this topic, but they always seem to forget one very important thing, hope.

As we screened the film at festivals, the statistics came alive for me, 1 in 3 women and 1in 6 men. It seemed like every other person I met was a survivor. What they responded to the most in our film was not showing the traumatic experience itself, but instead focusing on the survivor's story of overcoming and getting her life back.

The feature length version of this story, A LITTLE CRACKED, will deal with the major issue of sexual assualt on college campuses. Last year alone, student protests across the country broke out to see change. Rape should never be part of the high school or college experience The time for change is upon us.
