About

We’re creating our first exhibition where you’ll take a glimpse into the candid everyday life, the quiet corners, the memories, the modern hustle and bustle through the eyes of 7 artists from Thailand.

The Why

We’re undoubtedly known for our foods, textiles, crafts and tourism. However, there’s a disconnect between the local people’s experience and the tourist gaze. By creating the Same Same exhibition, we hope to deepen the understanding of visitors beyond what they might see on vacation and immerse themselves in the rich diversity and stories from a Thai’s perspective.

Same Same was inspired from the popular saying same same but different. It was created by locals to help tourists understand the cultural nuances by first identifying the similarities then explaining the differences.

Fundraising Goal

We’re fundraising to bring this exhibition to Los Angeles later this year.

This covers:

• Exhibition space
• Artist commission
• Production costs
• Travel stipend for our artists to fly to Los Angeles and join the opening weekend.

Needless to say, we would love your support on this journey. All contributions are tax deductible.

Your Contributions

Dee $100: supporters will receive a preview of the exhibition online store a day before opening day.

DeeDee $500: supporters will receive a preview of the exhibition online a day before opening day, a swag bag with secret stuff (I promise it’ll be good!) and thank you credit in exhibition material.

Kord Dee $1000: supporters will receive everything above and a framed artwork of a choice from the exhibition (will email further details).

(In Thai: Dee means good, DeeDee means extra good, Kord Dee means super good)
