To Kill a Tiger Impact Campaign's Fundraiser
Join us in creating a gender-equal world driven by powerful storytelling and the transformative power of the law.
#StandWithHer
#StandWithHer is inspired by the the 2024 Oscar® nominated documentary To Kill a Tiger, which tells the story of Ranjit, a farmer in Jharkand, India, and his wife, Jaganti, who seek justice for their 13-year-old daughter, Kiran (pseudonym) after three men sexually assault her.
Despite social ostracization, death threats, financial hardship, and caste prejudice from the courts, Ranjit, Jaganti, and their brave daughter refuse to capitulate. They demand their legal and human rights steadfastly, and by defying the odds, they win a landmark ruling. We believe their story can galvanize other men to stand with their daughters and for survivors around the world to demand the justice that is their right.
Our campaign has three key goals:
- Promote Healthy Masculinities: Encourage men and boys to embrace positive masculinity and actively support gender equality.
- Center Survivors' Needs: Activate community resources and destigmatize sexual violence.
- Prevent Gender-Based Violence: Focus on education and cultural change to prevent gender-based violence.
Our partnership model is unique and combines excellent strategic collaborators in gender rights, media, education, and notable film personalities. These include the global gender rights organizations Equality Now, Equimundo, Breakthrough India, Sakhi for South Asian Survivors and S.O.A.R. as well as notable Executive Producers Dev Patel, Mindy Kaling, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Atul Gawande and poet Rupi Kaur.
By leveraging these partnerships, we impact various social levels—cultural, political, legal, and community—across the US, locally and globally.
We invite you to join us as we recalibrate masculinity, support survivors and facilitate prevention and cultural change through education.
Your support will directly impact the communities and lives we hope to touch with our campaign and film.
All participants and partners will be financially compensated for their time at a rate that is fair. Documentary participant duty-of-care protocols are in place for the survivor and her family.
