In this poetic exploration of frozen grief and female solidarity, a filmmaker travels with the Caravan of Mothers on their annual 2,500-mile bus trek through Mexico, looking for their loved ones who vanished trying to reach the U.S. The film transcends border politics to remind us of the invisible threads that trespass lines on a map, binding us together as human beings like the root systems of trees. It will contribute to a transnational effort to prevent migrant disappearances and lead to proper protocols to identify and repatriate bodies. It will offer those seeking disappeared relatives healing, validation for their struggle, and support for their search.
