Our team planned to create the Divia film before the start of the full scale invasion on Ukraine.
By February 24, 2022 we managed to develop a key concept and create our first teaser. With this film, we wanted to tell people about the state of Ukrainian ecology as a result of industrialization and urbanization of the Soviet Union. However, after the start of the offensive, we realized that there are bigger problems. Due to the emission of harmful substances by military equipment, pollutions in water and soil, destruction of fields — real environmental disasters have just been started. A good example is the blown-up Kakhovka Dam near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Environmental devastastion on this scale makes the topic not only relevant to Ukraine, but to the entire geographical area of Europe.
Our goal is to raise global awareness about the issue of Ukrainian ecology, start a discourse about the consequences of the aggression, and visually share the state of ecology in the form of poetic cinema.
