THE GOAT follows Hadyia, a pregnant eleven-year-old orphan who escapes from her village after having been forced into marriage. She takes the road to freedom alone with her goat, whose milk she will use to survive, and who begins talking to her in the voice of her mother. This film promotes female empowerment and environmental preservation and sheds light on the horrors of sex slavery and the inequitable treatment of women.
