The Shaman's Apprentice follows the story of Vonetta Rain.

A young Black mother trapped in a toxic marriage, suffocating in a life that no longer fits. Everything changes when a Peruvian shaman shatters her reality and awakens her to the path of healing and self-discovery. Under his guidance, Vonetta begins a profound journey to reclaim her life and step boldly into the higher calling that awaits her.

Emmy award-winning graphic designer turned acclaimed shaman; Vonetta Rain delves into her profound transformation to a higher calling. Vonetta’s interest in shamanism grew roots at Cornell but deepened when she was chosen to be the apprentice of a famous Amazonian psycho cartographer. She has guided thousands of people on their path of healing. Using the power of plant medicine, ancient & indigenous wisdom bridged with modern science, she helps individuals and communities overcome struggles, return to their hearts, reclaim their joy, and awaken to their true selves. Her story is a call to create a more beautiful world rooted in love, understanding, connection, and unity. The Shaman’s Apprentice is her debut memoir.
