Now is the time for a movie to focus not only on a female heroine, but also to share a story of the Jewish people and ancient Persia through the eyes of the young woman who lived it. While the HADASSAH film takes the audience on an exciting journey, we hope it will cause people to consider the current state of antisemitism in the world and reflect on the danger it poses to real people.
We also want to give people hope. To remind audiences that they have a destiny and there is a purpose for their lives, the same as with our heroine. HADASSAH is based on the biblical story of Esther, a young woman who faced a formidable enemy's plan to wipe her people from existence. To save her people from a death sentence, Hadassah must risk her life and find the strength to speak up for herself and them.
There truly is something for everyone in this animated feature film: love, humor, music, an epic battle, and friendship. Whether you are nine years old or ninety-nine this movie will leave you uplifted and inspired.
