HERE COMES THE SUN | The Heroes Who Risked All

During the darkest days of the pandemic, frontline healthcare workers risked everything to save lives. Many were immigrants serving America in its hour of greatest need. Some never came home.

I’m Kris Kasparek, a New York City filmmaker. My wife was an ICU resident in a “Death Zone” hospital in the Bronx. She battled an unknown virus without proper protection and was forced to make impossible life-or-death decisions. At home, she lived in fear of infecting me, keeping her distance when we needed each other most. Exhausted, desperate, bruised, and sleepless — she kept showing up.

Here Comes the Sun is inspired by her story — and the thousands like hers. This film is both a cinematic tribute and a call to action: grant U.S. citizenship to immigrant healthcare heroes who risked their lives for America.
