DIVE: using the power of entertainment, humor and music to advocate for our oceans, which need our protection more than ever. Together, we can save the ocean, and in turn, ourselves.
DIVE began at Crazy Coqs in Soho, London, an ocean advocacy piece which saw audiences walk away informed, inspired and empowered to take individual action (see audience responses here). In a time where ocean health is increasingly threatened, with oceans warming, ocean acidification growing worse, and pollution and overfishing posing huge threats to marine life, time is really of the essence in bringing the importance of ocean health to the general public. A place that for many can be out of sight, of of mind, DIVE strives to present to audiences the wonder and magic of the oceans, creating empathy, amazement and care for this ecosystem and its creatures. This ecosystem, which is responsible for over 50% of the air we humans breathe, and integral for our own survival on the planet.
The show uses music, humor, entertainment and special expert guests to bring information to audiences in a fun, digestible way, that leaves them with tools to take real, lasting action. Many previous audience members have been in touch to note their reduced plastic consumption, changed shopping behaviors and commitments to ocean charities as a result of seeing the show.
Created by EM The Master, critically-acclaimed music artist and writer, but also scuba diver, freediver and ocean conservationist, Em brings her unique experiences and perspective to life as she personifies the creatures she's had the pleasure of interacting with, and draws on the knowledge of experts she is surrounded with including marine scientists, policy makers and ocean NGOs.
Currently, after it's last performance at Charing Cross Theatre in London's West End, the show is kicking of New York Climate Week and the UN General Assembly on September 22nd, 2025, in partnership with the High Seas Alliance, to celebrate the High Seas Treaty. This historic treaty is nearing the 60 ratifications required to enter into force. Once adopted, it will be the first global agreement to protect biodiversity in the high seas, covering nearly half the planet’s surface and two-thirds of the ocean. To mark the milestone, the High Seas Alliance will host distinguished guests at the performance. An expert will also offer insights into the Treaty’s significance for the future of ocean conservation, making the evening not just entertainment, but a landmark gathering of art, science and activism.
This is a huge moment in ocean conservation history, and DIVE's performance in celebration of this will be an exciting night for everyone involved. From executive producers including six time Tony-winner Una Jackman, bestselling author Kathy Eldon, and Eva Haller, DIVE will continue to harness the power of the arts as science communication beyond New York, with a goal to bring ocean literacy and care to a global audience.
With further performances in the pipeline across the USA and UK, we are seeking donations to continue the journey of DIVE. Together, we can save the ocean, and in turn, ourselves. Using the power of entertainment, humor, and music to advocate for our oceans.
