Your generosity will create inner wealth for many!

Healing is possible. It might not be easy or straightforward, but it's possible.

"You are the prayer your ancestors whispered. Healing is not just personal, it's ancestral. Every time you break a pattern, speak your truth or rest instead of push, you ripple healing backwards and forwards." - Unknown

What is Vesta Village?

A grassroots not-for-profit organization, Vesta Village will be a free virtual school to teach practical life skills to women whose mothers were unavailable due to any reason (death, addiction, emotional unavailability, etc.) and didn’t receive the guidance and nurturing they needed. It will be accessible to anyone in the world, but will resonate most with women ages 20-45.

The vision is to bring in practitioners of all backgrounds to teach deep dive workshops on topics that span the whole spectrum of human-ing - everything from holistic health practices to communication skills to social skills to relationship skills to financial skills to survival skills.
In addition to these life skills, a pillar of Vesta's mission will be to help generations of immigrant children who, through assimilation to US culture, have little to no connection to their home country, culture or ways of life because they were never passed down or taught to them. Vesta aims to allocate resources to bring in practitioners in diverse cultures so students of varying backgrounds can learn about different lineages to keep these ways of life alive in their own lives.
In our modern culture, it's these "how to be a human" practices that are seemingly going extinct in our technology-obsessed world.

Vesta is the Roman goddess of the home and hearth. Vesta Village aims to be a cocoon where people can learn “how to human” to create a sense of belonging, safety and “home” within themselves.

How will Vesta Village operate?

Vesta Village will be completely free of charge to anyone wanting to access these workshops. For the practitioners, they will be paid for their time, in addition to having the opportunity to be a built in mentor for the students. In this way, we're supporting not only wisdom sharing, but we're supporting the small business/gig economies through providing resources for the therapists and practitioners.

What will the funds be used for?

Because Vesta Village is a startup nonprofit (ie. we don't have any data of impact made yet) being awarded grant funding will be nearly impossible, so our primary source of funding our vision forward will need to come from individual and corporate tax-deductible donations.
Donation funding will be used for marketing and operational costs - building the website, paying the practitioners, hiring a team of contractors to help where needed, etc. Vesta has been fortunate enough to partner with volunteers who have provided pro bono services in lieu of being paid, however funds are desperately needed to hire practitioners and begin programming and marketing across various platforms and modalities.
Eventually Vesta Village may incorporate building a phone app, doing in person events, potentially even retreats - the sky is the limit, but for now we're working on the foundational structure.

Thank you so very much in advance for your support, contributions and most of all - love!!

A bit about our founder, Misty:

The vision for Vesta Village was created from my own life experiences and modalities I needed to seek out and learn for my own healing, especially working through Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) and autoimmune diseases. Growing up with an unavailable mother due to illness, I always felt like I missed out on so much maternal guidance - until I realized that there literally has been a village of women (aunts, mentors, friends) who I've learned so much from over the years. I want Vesta Village to be the resource for others I wish I had while going through various points in my life, moreso to give the power of choice - that the circumstances you were born into are only one template of what's available to you as a human.

As a third generation Italian American, I'm passionate about making ancestral reclamation a pillar in Vesta's work. Because both sides of my family assimilated when they immigrated to the United States in the early 1900's, the language, culture and folk skills were all lost. Nothing aside from some recipes were passed down to their children. It's hard growing up knowing you came from somewhere, but have no one to teach you or help you access it - thereby having to learn on your own and seek out your own mentors. There are so many culturally diverse practitioners teaching the "old" ways of living life that were more honoring to the self, the Earth and each other. It's a very different way of living and it's important to me that these skills be accessible to those who cannot afford them outright, just as I was generously taught without being able to afford much.
