SisterLand Farms created this fund to allow friends, neighbors, and lovers of regenerative food systems to support its not-for-profit labor. Here's what we do:

1. Waste Diversion

SisterLand partners with its city and peer businesses to divert tons of food and paper waste every year. We also donate thousands of plant starts each Spring, hundreds of pounds of produce every Summer, and open our gates to gleaning in the Autumn. Folks don't often think of farms and groceries as wasteful enterprises, but they can create (or mismanage) tons of trash each season without adequate support and resources. We aim to implement practices that make sense within American food systems, and to find ways to scale these mitigation efforts to homesteads and large scale commercial operations alike.

2. Accessible Education

SisterLand hosts public school groups, college groups, local business crews, and regional non-profit teams for educational tours and field trips every season. We also discount (or cover the entire cost of) on-farm event prices for PGM/BIPOC, people negatively impacted by the carceral and migration systems, and low-income neighbors.

3. Creating Community Spaces

We strive to meet the needs voiced by our loving community. In 2023 we began collaborating on a retail space for local farmers and food processors that will serve as a gathering space, workshop space, and launchpad for micro businesses. Beyond this work, the farm hosts three large annual events itself: Our free Pride Picnic in June, SisterLand Summer Camp in August, and our Town Hall Meeting in November.

With your help, we can continue this work while also offering dignity to the farmers who keep us growing safely, happily, and sustainably.
