Our Mission: Healing and education through writing and art.

Burundi is a small but beautiful country in East Africa, nestled among mountains near the Great Lakes. Yet despite being ranked the world's second poorest, its people are filled with deep faith and resilience. There, survival defines daily life. Families fight for food and access to education, while women and children carry burdens far beyond their years. The Coral & Blue Mission exists to change that.

Our Story:

What began as a simple gift of children's stationery to a Sunday school teacher in Burundi, has grown into a nationwide writing and art program helping to heal and educate. I'm Ashley Campbell, founder of Coral & Blue Paper Co., a children's stationery company in the United States. My business started at my kitchen table, helping my own children write thank-you notes, and grew into a patented line of stationery, designed to make writing joyful and meaningful for kids.

One afternoon, a small step changed everything. I sent a box of stationery to my friend, Maurice, a teacher in Burundi. The children connected with it immediately. Today, that simple act has grown into a country-wide program using writing and art to support healing and education.

On the Ground:

The Coral & Blue Mission is now reaching over 10,000 women and children across Burundi with trained teachers, creating supportive spaces to write and draw letters of gratitude, hopes and dreams. In these moments, voices are found, letters are shared aloud, dreams are revealed, and healing begins.

Afterward, they gather to play organized games. Through our program, they also receive food, drinks, school supplies, clothing, shoes and other necessities throughout the year.

The Women's Program:

In Burundi, many women carry heavy burdens supporting their families, and some find themselves in abusive work conditions. When we saw how the stationery was helping young children, we wondered if it could help adults too. We then shared it with women facing these realities.

Now women gather to share, support one another and begin to imagine new possibilities. Using our stationery, they write, draw, dream and express - taking steps towards healing, confidence and a future they can realize.
